Theincentives for electric carsthey are mainly provided by car manufacturers. The models of electric cars on the market continue to increase but ofincentiveswe are still fasting. The statistics speak for themselves: the Italians would like aelectric carbut the price is holding them back.
In the panorama ofelectric cars, the most accessible is the Renault ZOE, its price starts at 17,350 euros thanks to incentives for Renault electric cars, the price of the ZOE without incentives amounts to approximately 21,000 euros.
Italians rely heavily on electric mobility: they believe theelectric carthe vehicle of the most imminent future, the ideal solution to save on fuel and not pollute. On the other hand, the Italians themselves consider the prices ofelectric carstoo salty. The lack ofincentives for the purchase of an electric carrepresent another impassable barrier: the fewincentives for electric carsbrought by the former Monti government turned out to be a real flop, difficult to obtain and manage. The current Ministry of Economic Development is thinking of a formula of incentives for electric carssimpler, able to guarantee easier access.
To curb the spread ofelectric carsit's not just the lack of a planincentivesconcrete and accessible: there is no infrastructure network and battery autonomy still raises many concerns, thus helping to limit the take-off of the market forelectric vehicles.
For now, the only onesincentives for electric carsconcern the privileges managed by the regions: in many regions of Italy theelectric carsthey are exempt from paying the stamp, have free access to the Limited Traffic Zones and can have discounts on the TPL. The discounts on the RCA are part of the government plan, it isincentivesborn to facilitate the spread ofelectric carsbut apparently they have had little success, especially in southern Italy. In economic terms, the discount made on the compulsory insurance policy for motor vehicles (Civil Liability for Vehicles) amounts to a few hundred euroselectric cars. By comparing the insurance premium payable for a petrol-powered Peugeot 107 with an electric model of equal horsepower, insurance companies offer discounts of 150 euros. To attract the public is not this slimincentive, rather it should be the addition of free services with the green card and roadside assistance, included in the insurance. The mockery of thatincentive for electric carsis given by the fact that the insurance companies, in promotions and offers, propose similar conditions for cars with internal combustion engines.
With the absence of a planincentives for electric cars, it is really difficult to witness the massive spread of these vehicles. The only ones to benefit fromincentives for electric carsthey are freelancers, in fact, those who buy aelectric car for work (and holds a VAT number) can consider the car an instrumental asset to the business and is fully deductible for tax purposes: stamp duty is not due as the approval concerns the operating machines.
